Kawainui Marsh

Kawainui Marsh.
One of the biggest  fish ponds on the Hawaiian islands. Located in Kailua. A reserve for 4 species of birds. A sense of wahi pana lies among the marsh. Back in the days, canoes would come through. It was well known for agricultural taro planting fields in this area, along with bananas and other sustainable vegetation of the old Polynesian days. The marsh on present times is used as a flood level zone..Sold to Honolulu county from Kaneohe farms in 2005.
