Kea`iwa Heiau, oil, 16 x 20

On this Sunday in the park, families set up grills for picnics and children played in the cool and breezy passing showers. Joggers, dog walkers, and hikers passed by. Keaiwa Heiau still quietly nurtures body and spirit.

Kū’īlioloa Heiau, oil, 16 x 20

I last saw Ku’ilioloa ages ago when it was shrouded by trees. I returned because of the Wahi Pana event and was happy to see the revealed heiau.  A school bus pulled up to the playground behind me and children spilled out speaking Hawaiian.  I took this as a sign that Ku’ilioloa will live on.
